Meet the Staff – Spring 2018 Issue

The spring 2018 issue of the Agriculturist is written and produced entirely by the agricultural communications students enrolled in ACOM 4310 Developing Agricultural Publications during the fall 2017 semester.

Savanna Barksdale is from Farwell, Texas, and will graduate in 2018. She is the editor of the spring 2018 issue of The Agriculturist. Savanna is an agricultural communications major and has minors in political science and Spanish.  She is an Honors College student and plans to attend graduate school.

Emily Fouts, Associate Editor

Emily Fouts is a senior agricultural communications major from Sagerton, Texas. She is the associate editor of the spring 2018 issue of The Agriculturist. She enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. After graduation, she will be interning in Washington D.C. for the United States Department of Agriculture, and eventually hopes to pursue a law degree.

Kelsi Christian is a December 2017 agricultural communications graduate from San Antonio, Texas. She is passionate about graphic design and marketing in the agriculture industry and is excited to begin a career with the American Gelbvieh Association as the digital media coordinator following graduation.

Shelbie is from Decatur, Texas, and will graduate in December of 2018 with a double major in agricultural communications and natural resources management with a concentration in fisheries biology. Upon graduation, she wants to work for the Department of Texas Parks and Wildlife.

Catelyn Felts is a December 2017 agricultural communications graduate (minor in international agribusiness) from Mason, Texas. She has a passion for marketing, traveling and making a difference. She will be moving to Austin after graduation to work in Rodeo Austin’s marketing department. She would like to pursue a marketing career for a large non-profit organization that allows her to work internationally.

Madison Hensley is a December 2017 agricultural communications graduate  from Lubbock, Texas. Following graduation, she plans to move to the Dallas-Fort Worth area where she hopes to work in communications or marketing. She enjoys spending her time with friends and family as well as volunteering at local animal shelters.
